Religion/Faith

Today we discussed Religon/Faith in class. The book Dune definately has a form of religon/faith in it. One of the obvious ones is the sister hood. Somewhat like nuns in our time, which serve for a greater cause than there own life. From what i have read so far, There are two schools or Acadameys that the sister hood works for or something of that sort. Both are revolved around Blood Lines of two men, who seem to be more important than ordinary beings. Another form of religion in dune that stands out to be is the Orange Catholic Bible that is mentioned now and then. Its a book that holds ancient myths or something, but i havent read far enough to fully understand the meaning of the Orange Catholic Bible.

The religon in the book dune helps tie dune in our present world together for me a little bit better, making the book seem closer to our real time than some made up fantasy book.

the religion in dune is a pretty cool system of prophecy and witchery. The prophecies of paul and his accidental fullfilments of them speak of a sort of messiah-ic quality. While paul may not be jesus on dune, he still is a very important religious appearance. Have you learned anything of the sand worms importance in thier religion? It's pretty cool. Leave me a comment when you get to that point.
